Dean Foote, the Bad Boy of winemakers

by Guy Doucet

In the desert of California, 150 km in the north east of San Diego and at less than 100km from Palm Spring, lies a beautiful wine region named Temecula. Unknown to most in Quebec, this region produces excellent wines with strong character in a very warm environment. For this visit in this magnificent terroir, we were looking for the producer that had a unique story to tell; this story was unearthed in the smallest vineyard of the region, Foot & Path, a fully organic vineyard producing 400 crates of red wine yearly.

Excellent bubbles in Belgium!

by Pasquale Charland

The adventure started 15 years ago, in 2002; at first, 2 ha and now… 28 ha. Built on the association of a wine negotiator, a farmer, a winemaker from Champagne (Thierry Gobillard) and two entrepreneurs from the region, Ruffus established its domain in Belgium, but close to France to benefit from the same favorable conditions and climate found in Champagne.

Jurançon : wine nobility

by Alfred

A legend says that the future great king, Henri IV, was baptized in the wine of Jurançon. The texts say that Henri II of Navarre, also called Henri d’Albret, who had bought a vineyard in Jurançon, brought his grandson into history with “lips rubbed with a clove of garlic and moistened with ‘A drop of Jurançon”. Produced on 1000 hectares of vineyards planted on the slopes of steep hillsides, the wine of Jurançon draws from its royal history. We wanted to explore it.
