Domaine Weinbach Pinot Blanc Reserve 2015

White wine
France (Alsace)

Domaine Weinbach does not need any introduction, their white wines are recognizable because of their pure quality, this white Pinot being a perfect example. Assembled of Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois, its nose opens with beautiful floral aromas of honey, green apple and white kernels. In the mouth, it seduces and surprises with its high tartness. It is somewhat full-bodied for a Pinot Blanc, with some elegant roundness on the palate. It is a beautiful “vin de soif” as well as gourmand and will accompany lobster perfectly.

Domaine Labruyère Moulin-à-Vent Le Clos du Moulin

Red wine

France (Beaujolais)

I admit it was hard for me to legitimately consider paying $60 for a Beaujolais. Domaine Labruyère managed to have me revise my opinion. Only monopole of the name, this Moulin-à-Vent is noble with a beautiful complexity. It is of an intense ruby red and its nose opens on notes of red berries and black cherries, colored with floral touches (rose and peony). In the mouth it is fleshy with a very present fruit and well rounded tannins on top of a pronounced woody quality that will require a few years of bottle aging. It is an fabulous Gamay!

Domenico Clerico Ciabot Mentin Barolo 2010

Red wine
Italy (Piedmont)

Barolo 2010 was a great vintage and we are fortunate to enjoy this legendary wine from the Clerico estate. Intensely coloured with red backed with orange reflections, its nose opens on powerful aromas of black fruits, spices and menthol. On the palate, this wine is a “blockbuster”, intense with complex flavours and robust tannins. It seduces immediately but the patient drinkers will be rewarded because it is a great wine for aging! !
